Clip Studio Paint PRO versus EX

Both are ideal for artists and have an intuitive interface, tools, and an interesting application. Besides, they have numerous options that enable you to optimize your work for more success. And though beginners may take time before they learn how to use the features and functionalities within these applications, there are internet tutorials for the part.

So, what are the differences between Clip Studio Paint EX and PRO versions? Check out the comparison below.

CSP PRO vs EX – Nutshell

In a nutshell, the difference between EX and PRO Clip Studio is that EX is Clip Studio Paint's top of the line product, and it has all the features of PRO with extras designed for working on longer, multi-page projects. EX is a great choice for anyone who wants to create comics or illustrations that are more than just a single page.

The extra features in EX can be helpful for planning out larger projects, and the increased price is worth it for serious professionals. However, if you're just getting started with Clip Studio Paint, or you're only interested in creating single-page illustrations, then PRO is the perfect choice. It's more affordable than EX, and it still has all the basic features you need to get started.

Clip Studio Paint PRO Review

PRO

Clip Studio Paint PRO is one of the best software packages for starting a career in comic drawing and illustration. It is a basic version of Clip Studio, unlike the EX package that contains more tools and features. But its attractive feature is the pricing; it's more affordable than the EX package and comes with useful tools and features as you'll get to know from this Clip Studio Paint EX vs PRO 2022 review.

Using the Clip Studio Paint PRO package, you can access numerous painting tools and coloring options as well as a free library with more than 10,000 assets. This package is also easier to use and especially if you have used Photoshop before.

When you compare its fair price and its incredible features, then you will know why it falls in the top category of comic creating software in the market.

Clip Studio Paint has an amazing story behind it and was initially a less popular program of Manga Studio, which was made of manga enthusiasts. Currently, it’s a very popular software that combines the features of popular apps like Adobe Photoshop and sketching apps.

Drawing and Editing Lines with Vector Layer of Clip Studio Paint

Using Vector Layer

Clip Studio Paint PRO has vector and raster features that use multiple colors and can create flawless animations while enabling you to sync your work between your devices. Many beginners have complained that this software was hard to use at first, but they got familiar with the program after a short while.

Review of Interface

The first time you use Clip Studio Paint PRO, you will find it busier and cluttered like that sketchbook of Autodesk. But you can move these elements around, dock, or close them based on your needs. You can also change the themes from dark grey to light green and any favorite color.

Drawing Stabilization

The left side interface has all the brushes, which are called ‘tools' in this program, and which you can modify their properties to suit your preferences. One of the best tools is stroke stabilization that enables you to smoothen the lines you have drawn. This is important since the lines can be unstable especially if you are shaking when drawing with the ink.

Stabilization

Color Selection & Adjustment Tools

There are also quite comprehensive color selections at the top of the page. There are a color wheel and a color set and slider at the bottom. These will allow you to mix hues and make your own sets, and there are also approximate and intermediate color selectors that enable you to apply some tweaks to the drawing.

Pens with Various Pressure Sensitivity

In default, this package has many tools, including many pencils with different pressure sensitivity. Besides, the community of this software users have created their own brushes to give you more options. Most of the painting brushes will blend the colors well when you are making the strokes, and though it will depend on the pen pressure, blending will be a less daunting task.

The numerous blending tools are also handy, and there is a layer-blending mode that enables you to lighten, color, dodge, and multiply.

Blending Colors

Lay Vector Strokes on Layers

As briefly mentioned earlier, another incredible feature of this software is that it enables you to create vector layers that you will lay your vector strokes on instead of using raster strokes. Unlike normal brush strokes, vector strokes will allow you to make points and create strokes in between instead of just laying down pixels.

Clip Studio Paint PRO can also be optimized to enable you to use a digital pen or mouse with it if you are a serious artist. You will likely need them anyway, and when you use them on any tablet or computer, you will love the response, especially in making bold and thick lines when you push the pen hard. And on soft pressing, you will have soft, beautiful lines.

Clip Studio Paint – Basic Settings for Pen Tablet

The accuracy of the program is immense, and on adjusting the sensitive settings, you will enjoy a varying accuracy and movement, unlike other typical software on the market.

Additionally, it enables you to work and even import images in different formats such as PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and more.

Now, exporting PDF files has never been easier and convenient. However, this is possible only in Clip Studio Paint EX.

Features and Assets

Furthermore, you will have access to thousands of assets while using Clip Studio Paint PRO, such as characters, effects, and props, and you can add more to your panel. Over 10,000 free assets are available for users, and there are premium assets you can purchase at a few dollars.

You will also get the posable 3D models in this PRO version as it's not restricted to the EX version only, and they will help you to draw accurate gestures and body positions.

Preset Character 3D Models

But unlike the EX version, you won’t enjoy numerous publishing tools for your PC. This makes it hard to organize or work on multiple pages found within a file, which is helpful when creating physical and digital comic books.

How Much Is Clip Studio Paint?

Clip Studio Paint PRO is a flexible option that won't cost you a lot. In terms of pricing, it’s the most popular package that goes for a one-time purchase of $50.

Its installation is seamless and hassle-free and only requires a minimum of 2GB RAM, but you should have at least 8 GB RAM if you are on Windows or macOS.

There is a free trial period for you to test Clip Studio Paint. The trial period will enable you to find out if the app is ideal for your use or not.

Fine-tune Hand Setup

In addition to the above, you can also get volume licenses for enterprise and educational purposes with multi-device support for remote learning and working on Windows, macOS, Android, iPhone, iPad, Galaxy and Chromebook.

Clip Studio Paint PRO – Summary

Clip Studio Paint PRO is the basic version of Clip Studio Paint software. It’s ideal for beginners and is easy to use, unlike the advanced version. It has an array of resources, a vast community, and features, functionalities, and interface common in Photoshop, which makes it a reliable software.

Pros

1. It is affordable than the EX version

2. Has a vast array of the asset library

3. Can easily blend with many patents

Cons

1. It's of lower quality compared to the EX package

2. It doesn’t have some essential publishing tools

Clip Studio Paint EX Review

EX

Try Now

Clip Studio Paint EX is an immense program for creators. It has more features and tools than the PRO Version and has many publishing possibilities too.

With an asset library of over 10,000 tools, you can make your own comics, backgrounds, create animations and illustrations than any basic software. It also boasts of the best drawing features, which makes it a handy creator software package from Clip Studio Paint EX.

Plenty of Adjustable Brushes

If you are using a drawing tablet, then pressing it gently will generate a soft line, and if you need bold and thick lines, then you will press it hard. There are more brushes than Photoshop, and you can adjust them to suit your needs. Besides, you can buy extra brushes from other developers or even create your own.

Adjusting the Tablet's Pen Sensitivity with Clip Studio Paint

Adjusting Pen Sensitivity

Many Page Templates

This EX package also comes with page templates that enable you to stretch your creativity and some unique panel layouts. And if you are an experienced user, then you can use this package to create your own layouts. It's even possible to work at one layer at a time or numerous parts of an image without affecting the left ones.

Page Manager & Text Editor

The number of script tools has also increased in this tool during the last few years and there is now a page manager for arranging and numbering your pages and creating pages for your writing. It's also easier to add text ad word balloons as well as modify the font size and color of your text. But it doesn’t have a spelling checker, so you will want a proofreading tool before you publish your works online.

Work with Multiple Pages

Additionally, the page manager displays the thumbnails of the pages you have used before, and you can check them even without leaving the page you are working on. It's also possible to zoom using the mouse wheel, and you can work on multiple pages at once.

With the package, you can also view the entire pages while you create them, change the page's orderings and even switch between a single or two-page spread with the simple drag and drop functionality.

Create & Use Customized Brushes

Since this package is optimized for advanced users, the brushes can easily be customized to suit your needs. It also comes with an extensive community that regularly designs new brushes for use in the library.

Watercolor

Pencils

Many specialists are using this program, and you can design smooth lines while drawing. You will also love the vector output aspect of it as it’ll make your drawings more efficient.

Since Clip Studio Paint EX has a high rendering quality, it’s ideal for 3D animation projects and is therefore commonly used in animation studios worldwide. There are many brushes, markers, pens, and pencils to use. But, Clip Studio Paint EX compared to PRO is more expensive, so if you are on a budget, then it may not be ideal for you.

Compatible with iPad, iPhone, Galaxy, macOS & Windows (Now Supports Android & Chromebook)

The projects you create with the PRO or EX package are compatible, and you can therefore inter-use these programs with your projects. Both PRO and EX are compatible with all the above platforms and devices mentioned above. They work with multiple devices. Hence, you do not need to bother about whether there is Clip Studio Paint EX for iPad or PRO for iPad, for example. This is because the program also supports all apple devices.

Besides the drawing tools, the package also comes with props, characters, and special effects, in the Assets category.

Transformable 3D Models

An impressive feature is also the 3D models, which are posable to enable you to transform them to complex positions and even draw over them to make them more believable and proportional. It's also possible to animate the models and images.

Transformable three-dimensional models

There is an asset for all users with over 10,000 free components (though you can get more at a few dollars). They are ideal for large projects, and, luckily, you can save and even export the images using this software package. Therefore, your created images can be saved in various formats, including JPEG, TIFF, and PNG.

Is Clip Studio Paint iOS Now Available?

Clip Studio Paint is one of the leading software programs for manga artists, and it's now available for iPhone users. The app has been optimized for smaller screens, so it's easier to use on an iPhone than the iPad version.

The app includes all of the features that manga artists rely on, including a wide range of brushes and tools, advanced layer options, and support for 4K resolutions.

Plus, with iCloud support, you can start a project on your iPhone and pick up where you left off on your desktop.

Whether you're a seasoned manga artist or just getting started, Clip Studio Paint is the perfect tool for creating beautiful artwork on your iPhone.

Pricing

Clip Studio Paint EX costs a one-time purchase fee of $219. Like the PRO version, it is available on Android, Galaxy, Chromebook, iPad, iPhone, Windows, and macOS devices.

Clip Studio Paint EX – Summary

Clip Studio Paint EX is a blend of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Pros

1. Has an array of amazing tools and functionalities

2. Creates amazing 3D projects

3. Compatible with many devices

4. It has more features than the PRO version

 Cons

It is more expensive than the PRO version

Clip Studio Paint EX vs PRO: Which Is Better?

The Better of the Two Programs

When you compare Clip Studio Paint EX and PRO, the latter is the ideal tool for beginner artists or those who are looking for affordable software. Despite the lower price tag, it has numerous brush and vector tools that enable creators to develop the best comics.

And though it has a steep learning curve, you can use it well over time if you adhere to best practices and dedicate your time to tutorials. Even beginner users can easily learn to use its tools and features over a short period.

Conclusion

Knowing the difference between Clip Studio paint PRO and EX, as outlined above, should help you to make a better decision regarding choosing between the two options.

If you have used Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe software before, then you will take a short time to understand this program. It also has many predesigned graphics that make it easier to create your projects, and thousands of assets give you maximum flexibility at every stage of creation.

But the PRO version doesn’t give you the ability to arrange work easily or work with multiple pages at once in your comic book, which makes it unideal for heavy uses. The PRO also lacks essential publishing tools. However, the advantage of Clip Studio Paint PRO over the EX is its lower price tag, which makes it ideal for beginning artists.

USE CLIP STUDIO PAINT FOR FREE

With specialized comic book features (panel splitting, speech bubbles, effect lines for visualizing dynamism and sounds, matrix pattern in a classic Ben-Day dots style) and a natural drawing feel, Clip Studio Paint is used by professionals and studios around the world to create comics.

Powerful Brush Engine for Limitless Supply of Tools

brushes clip studio paint review

Use hundreds of pre-installed decorative brushes, or choose from the Clip Studio Assets’ ever-growing range of unique custom community brushes to match your personal style. The program offers pens, markers, airbrushes, shading tools, several types of brushes (ink, watercolor, oil), as well as the Pen tool to draw any shape.

Each aspect can be customized according to style and technique. It is possible to change the shape of the brush print, the thickness of the pen line, the feel of the analog, the texture, control the direction of the stroke, the gap, scattering, density, anti-aliasing, opacity and blending capabilities.

Draw repeated textures (flowers, grass) in one motion. You can apply multiple images to a single brush and randomize them to achieve a natural result. Clip Studio managed to control the blending of brush strokes and textures more precisely while maintaining a deep level of Photoshop brush customization for a greater variety of shapes. Clip Studio Paint EX lets you import and even create your own brushes.

Designed for the Convenience of Artists Regardless of Device

Clip Studio Paint is optimized for use with a mouse or digital pen. It makes the most of your device’s capabilities to reflect all the nuances of your pen, even up to the 8192 pen pressure levels detected by Wacom tablets.

According to many Clip Studio Paint reviews, the tracking and precision of the sensitivity settings are impressive, and it makes natural changes to movement, just like when working on paper. Feel free to work with PSD files containing up to 10,000 layers without any problems thanks to the 64-bit OS and support for multi-core processors. The layers folder function simplifies the process of managing files with a large number of layers.

The Best Aspects of Vector and Raster Editors

layers clip studio paint review

Since you can use raster and vector layers, the workflow in Clip Studio Paint vs Photoshop is smoother, because it is a kind of mix of Illustrator and Photoshop without photo correction tools.

It means that you can draw pixels and vector lines in the same picture editor instead of switching between programs. Clip Studio Paint lets you draw as usual, even using vectors. This supports a regular workflow while still providing scalable images.

Move, thicken, tone, selectively erase individual strokes before intersecting or view them in 4K without compromising quality. You can tweak vector parameters to create smooth, bold strokes in sketches.

Also, take advantage of the Clip Studio Paint features to increase (or reduce) certain areas of lines and make your drawings look more artistic. Unlike regular layers, vector layers let you easily change the size and edit lines, which is necessary for professional graphic design.

The Perfect Line Even If You Aren’t an Artist

enhancing clip studio paint review

Clip Studio Paint offers an interesting artificial intelligence technology based on deep learning that does everything – from coloring pictures to automatically filling animations with closing gaps in lines. Drawing precise lines can be challenging, but you can make it easier with the stabilization and correction features.

By reducing wobbly and wavering lines, as well as automatically narrowing the beginning and end of strokes, Clip Studio’s lines appear almost natural. Use your stroke drawing or take into account color hints for amazing results.

With integrated perspective rulers that snap brush strokes and shape tools to vanishing points, symmetry and perspective become easier. Draw buildings, interiors, intricate patterns or complex backgrounds manually using perspective, symmetrical, concentric circle, and other useful technical tools.

Besides, it is possible to directly import your own 3D materials into existing advanced rulers and guides. Take advantage of smart anti-aliasing to enhance resolution: resample images and eliminate jpeg noise to use past work in a larger format for printing and high-resolution screens.

Entire Art Studio with Models in the Tablet

3d clip studio paint review

With Clip Studio Paint full, you will get access to the features of three-dimensional models. Import fully customizable 3D shapes and models and use them for drafts, drawing any pose and angle, complex gestures and body positions.

The program offers 3D models of characters, objects and backgrounds that can be posed, tilted and placed directly on the canvas as a visual reference. With customizable body shapes and angles, they are ideal for hard-to-reach pose standards. Don’t forget to test the new features for extracting poses from photos and using a 3D link for accurate composition.

When placing 3D material, you can view from four angles simultaneously, change the camera position and focus point on the 3D layer. When you change the camera position on the view palette from all sides, the model is also adjusted on the canvas.

Import your own 3D models or upload architecture, furniture, people and cars to create a vast array of scenes. It will be even easier to add details by converting images and 3D materials into line drawings, then adding lines and color. There is another magic tool worth mentioning in this Clip Studio Paint review – converting photos to animation or 3D.

Smart Features for Smooth Animation

animation clip studio paint review

Take your own animation studio with you wherever you go, and then export the finished animation as an MP4 video, animated gif, or a sequence of PNG, BMP, JPEG or TIFF flipbook-style images. You can add timelines, camera movements, customize and mix multiple music tracks, sound effects and voices. Set the time and order of each frame on multiple tracks. Then adjust the playback speed if necessary.

Take advantage of a light table to freely reference specific keyframes during the intermediate, as well as onion-skin features to view adjacent frames, overlay previous and next frames for refinement with full control over color and number of layers. Create a thumbnail grid or export frames of the entire animation as a flattened sequence of images with control over zoom and frame rate, adding images and reference data to the same layer or to individually masked panels.

With multiple interpolation options, you can set sharp or smooth curved movements and check the movement by displaying the camera path. Transform grayscale concepts with gradient maps and explore the mood and lighting for projects. Apply color variations to the entire image or individual layers.

Clip Studio Paint Review Prices

Clip Studio Paint offers a generous but complex and unobvious system of trial versions (up to six months), subscriptions and purchases, partly because the developer CELSYS is based in Japan. The purchase page will introduce you to a one-time purchase of the PRO (standard version of the product) and EX (premium version for Studio production) versions for $49.99 and $219.00 respectively. Judging by the prices, I wouldn’t call this system a very generous one.

VIEW PRICES

Here you will find discounted upgrades from DEBUT, an early version of the product that often comes with drawing tablets, to PRO and PRO to EX, taking into account the cost difference. From this page, you can proceed to the monthly subscription offer, where prices are more than reasonable and start at $0.99/month for the mobile application.

There are many discount options: depending on the number of devices, an annual discount, as well as options for businesses and training programs.

Love this!! But one major thing

Edit2: oct 15,2018 - I have csp ex on my Mac and had some animations I wanted to carry over to work on the iPad. The iPad version cannot handle all the features that the desktop has? So I couldn’t touch my file on the iPad... what a downer.. 3/5

Edit: so I found how to do it! Lol, wow, so I’ll share it in case you’re like me. You can go to file>import>from photo library. For some reason I overlooked that. So I changed my rating to 5/5

I use this program on my Mac as well, so I’m used to it. This is my main program to animate (I’m an animation student) so I’m so happy that I could animate just as well as on the desktop version!! There’s one major downfall to this and it is that I cannot open any files from the iPad’s “photos”! I want to be able to open up psd files that wasn’t initially created in csp. I’ve been playing around with it for awhile but I can’t seem to find a way to do that (if there is a way). I tried importing too but no luck. This is super important to me and if this feature were there, I would give this a 6 star if I could (so a 5 would suffice). I just love this so much! I don’t think $9 a month is unreasonable, but I also wish there was a year subscription like how some apps have! Thanks csp! I really hope this will be a feature in the near near future!! 4/5

Clip studio is great, BUuuut there's one problem thats stopping this to be a 5 star review

I've been a clip studio user for about 6 months now and I really like it a lot, I have created so much artworks in the span of those months and I use it a lot when my iPad storage is nearly full because it takes the iCloud storage instead which is really handy. Overtime I have encountered a few problems here and there but they were never really big for me to say screw clip studio, u n t i l t h i s o n e. Everytime when I draw something that I really like it doesn't freakin save. I know it's on me because I forget to save the file sometimes but autosave is a thing and it's not working. I had so many layers worth of work that I really liked and a I thought that clip studio saved it automatically so I went to bed, and when I woke up this morning I found out that it did not save 7 layers worth of stuff. SEVEN!!! That took me like at least two hours so how come it didn't save automatically??? This is like the 10th time and I thought that the bug was fixed. B uT, other than that, it's a pretty decent program and I do recommend it if you can afford it, just please everyone, remember to save Everytime you exit the app or you'll end up grieving over something stupid like i just did.
Thank you and goodnight ✌️

Long time CSP fan here

I don't mind the subscription based service considering all the free options there are for brushes etc.. HOWEVER I will gladly pay full price for it on iPad since I already have the Desktop version. I got the iPad one because I can't afford to replace my tablet pen and the convenience of drawing anywhere I want. Now onto my REAL problem with this. Why can't we import and export directly to and from the camera roll? It's extremely frustrating having to keep my phone out for references when I know on the PC version I can put them directly into Sub View. Why does the iPad version only work from iCloud folders??? It doesn't make any sense??? I just want to import to Sub View from my camera roll? And why can't I export to camera roll with different file types? Only PNG with quick share?? It's so silly? Twitter compresses PNGs and now my art is getting crunched on there. It's frustrating and disappointing. I've been using CSP since 2017 and procreate is difficult for me to understand (and does not offer the same brushes I need). All I'm asking is for the camera roll feature to be added! Then it'll be a perfect 5* app for me! Please!

Clip Studio Paint Reviews

Clip Studio Paint is the greatest software, whether a beginner or a professional artist. It’s popular and adaptable, and if you’re new to it, you can select between the Clip Studio Paint EX and PRO packages. It currently has over 3 million users worldwide, making it one of the most popular drawings and painting programs.

It’s popular among manga and comic artists, especially for painting and drawing. It’s also an all-in-one animation app with pencil functions to customize and create your own unique, professional masterpieces. So, without further ado, let us dig into the detailed review.

Clip Studio Paint: Digital Painting Tool

Clip Studio Paint is a popular piece of art software among anime, manga, and comic creators. Moreover, Clip Studio has various advanced tools, exclusive brushes, and other features designed to give anime artists a competitive edge in their work. The painting tool also provides animation tools, including an onion-skin view and a camera that people can customize. However, clip Studio Paint’s 3D model, which uses artificial intelligence to create dynamic and lifelike positions for reference, is one of the most appealing features.

According to the manufacturer, Clip Studio Paint is a professional-grade graphic software tool for animation, illustration, manga, and comic art, with over 4,000,000 users worldwide. Because of its remarkable features, capabilities, and inexpensive pricing, have swiftly become one of the most popular programs in the manga and comic art industry.

Many artists and illustrators are beginning to see Clip Studio Paint as an excellent Photoshop alternative because it offers more versatility in several areas, many of which we will highlight in this review. Of course, one of its main competitors is Adobe Photoshop. Still, many artists and illustrators are beginning to see Clip Studio Paint as an excellent Photoshop alternative because it offers more versatility in several areas, many of which we will highlight in this review.

What is Clip Studio Paint?

Clip Studio Paint began out as “Comic Studio.” It immediately earned a big and devoted following in Japan, where the Celsys software firm has developed it since its inception (of RetasPRO fame).

Despite having a significant user base in Japan, the software was not well known in North America until Smith Micro (makers of the popular 2D animation software Moho) came on board as the distributor and rebranded the product as Manga Studio for years ago.

This collaboration aided in the development of Manga Studio (now known as Clip Studio Paint) into a genuinely worldwide brand and arguably the most popular manga and comic book software available today. Despite its popularity among artists who create manga, anime, and similar works, this software is more than a one-trick pony, with unique features that set it apart from most other art programs.

The benefits of using this software

  • Customizable Pen Pressure: Designers may customize their pen pressure settings and quickly regenerate high-quality realistic strokes. They can also use a few test strokes to preview the outcome and make changes if necessary.
  • Multiple Color Options: Artists may test, select, and manage multiple color options across different color palettes using Clip Studio Paint, which features standard sliders and circles as well as midway colors, similar colors, and the history of previously applied colors.
  • Photoshop File Format Compatibility: The software is compatible with all Photoshop file types. As a result, users are no longer need to change their existing workflows before delivering the final product to the client.
  • 3D Book Viewer: Using the 3D book viewer option, artists may share their works on social media or any other online platform and have the details presented in the shape of a real book. The published content can also be viewed on a smartphone.

How does Clip Studio Paint assist artists in increasing their productivity?

  • Workspaces let artists save and share customized palettes, command bars, colors, and shortcuts, which they can use whenever needed.
  • Large groups can collaborate more easily by sharing file-related settings or layer-based structures as templates. They can also share the workplace to create a more cohesive working atmosphere.
  • Shortcuts that can be customized: Artists can design their shortcuts or copy their favorite shortcuts from other programs. They can also use the software’s Auto Action feature to accomplish repeated or frequent operations with a single click.
  • Personalized Palette: With Clip Studio Paint, artists may create a personalized palette that contains frequently used menus, tools, auto actions, and colors that they can utilize according to their artistic demands.
  • Individual artists or large teams may easily backup their whole work, including numerous settings, to the cloud and access it from anywhere.

Drawing software

What’s the Difference Between Clip Studio Paint Pro and Ex?

Before we get into the details of the software, it’s important to note that Clip Studio Paint is two separate products.

Clip Studio Paint PRO and Clip Studio Paint EX are the two distinct program versions that you may purchase. Apart from the price difference ($49.99 vs. $219.99 RRP, respectively), there are several significant distinctions to consider when deciding which one is best for you and your budget.

One of the best software tools for getting started in comic sketching and illustration is Clip Studio Paint PRO. It is a stripped-down version of Clip Studio instead of the EX-package, including additional tools and capabilities. But the pricing is appealing; it’s less expensive than the EX-package and includes helpful tools and capabilities, as you’ll see in this Clip Studio Paint EX vs. PRO 2022 comparison.

With the Clip Studio Paint PRO package, you’ll have access to a wide range of painting and coloring tools and a free library of over 10,000 elements. This program is also simpler to use, especially if you are familiar with Photoshop.

Which one to choose?

Its reasonable pricing and fantastic capabilities make it easy to see why it’s in the top tier of comic-making software. Clip Studio Paint has a fascinating backstory and was once a lesser-known software of Manga Studio, a group of manga fans. It is currently a very popular software that combines the functionality of well-known apps such as Adobe Photoshop and drawing tools.

Clip Studio Paint PRO contains vector and raster tools that work with numerous colors and can produce faultless animations while allowing you to sync your work across many devices. Many beginners have stated that this software was difficult to use at first, but they became comfortable with it after a short time.

Clip Studio Paint Features

The list of features that makes Clip Studio Paint stand out among the rest of the competitors is listed down below:

Clip Studio Paint’s true strength, and what sets it apart from other digital painting tools, is this. It has the sense of an artist-driven piece of software and provides you with additional options and flexibility when creating your artwork.

You can use your mouse (but I don’t encourage it!) to complete the task. Or use a pen tablet to freely draw with a range of pencils, pens, and other instruments to help you create manga or comic book characters.

The pens and brushes have such a natural feel to them. Whether used with a graphics tablet display, such as a Cintiq, or a regular drawing tablet, the responsiveness and pressure sensitivity is, in many people’s opinion, superior to Photoshop.

drawing-flexibility

  • Brushes with many options

You can either develop and utilize your brushes or select from preset brush options to get almost any look you like. Unfortunately, most illustration programs have a limited number of brush options, which can be challenging for illustrators who want to achieve a specific impression. Thus this is a huge plus in Clip Studio.

The Clip Studio Assets site also has a massive online database with over 10,000 different materials, brushes, and elements that you may access for free.

brushes

Clip Studio’s strong vector tools can help you move your project along much faster. For example, you can more easily see flaws or places that need touch-ups, allowing you to finish your artwork in less time and with fewer “spill” errors when filling an area with a color that hasn’t been firmly “sealed.”

  • Coloring Pages with a Wide Range of Options

The program comes with a comprehensive set of coloring tools and everything you’ll need to produce a vivid, professional-looking comic. You don’t need to utilize any other apps to get the colors you need for your project anymore. This is ideal for those who want to work with only one program at a time, and it also saves money because no other tools are required.

It also lets you work in both RGB and CMYK formats, which is ideal if you plan to print your comic because the quality and color integrity of the final product will be preserved.

This is a clever feature that only an artist would think of. With a new set of tools in Clip Studio, you can effortlessly use and manipulate 3D models and objects, including the ability to drag and drop additional elements.

What’s even better is that they have several 3d “artist models” that you can import and alter into the postures you need, then use as a reference or trace over the lines to obtain the exact foreshortening and perspective you want.

It’s very useful for getting dynamic stances and maintaining a character’s volume. It also aids in the sharpening of your eye while working without using a real model.

  • Capabilities for importing and exporting files

Clip Studio supports all major file formats, including.JPEG,.TIFF,.PNG, and.BMP, as well as the.PSD /.PSB (Photoshop) format allows you to keep layers in and out. It also supports the PaintTool SAI format and storyboard(name) files made by the Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid’s pre-installed storyboarding software “Manga Canvas.”

Do you want to publish your comics as a Kindle or eBook?

Clip can output to industry-standard Kindle and ePub formats, so there’s no need to worry. Clip Studio Paint also allows you to import.CPG files from prior versions of the software, such as Manga Studio 4 and 4 EX. As a result, you may pick up where you left off and enjoy all of the benefits.

Clip Studio Paint EX offers exceptional animation capabilities, which, when paired with the superior drawing and painting tools already described, make it a formidable force. However, please keep in mind that the PRO version of the software only allows for a maximum of 24 frames of animation. Thus, it’s only suitable for simple tasks such as animated GIFs.

This, in my opinion, is Clip Studio Paint EX’s true advantage over competitors like Photoshop. To bring your manga or other drawings to life, the animation tools provide a customizable timeline and other unique features and the ability to export it in several formats for viewing elsewhere. This is an extremely intriguing new feature that illustrators will undoubtedly appreciate.

Clip Studio Paint Pricing

Clip Studio Paint Alternatives

The top alternatives that are available in the market to Clip Studio Paint are listed down below:

  • Inkscape
  • Corel Painter
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • CorelDRAW
  • Vecteezy
  • Sketchbook
  • CSI Etabs
  • Affinity Designer
  • Vectr
  • Krita

Adobe Photoshop vs. Clip Studio Paint

Even though both applications allow you to design full-color manga, comics, and other pictures, Clip Studio Paint has the following features that Photoshop does not:

  • Pose creation in 3D
  • Layers of reference
  • Brushes that can be customized
  • Editing as a backup
  • Rulers and perspective guides in various sizes
  • Word balloons in a comic book panel
  • A large library of materials
  • Capabilities for frame-by-frame animation have improved (EX more than PRO)

Depending on which version you choose, the cost of Adobe Photoshop is typically right amid the Clip Studio Pro and EX prices. However, Clip Studio is a one-time payment, whereas Photoshop is a monthly membership that, over time, will prove to be more expensive. Other competitors include Autodesk’s Sketchbook, ArtRage, PaintTool SAI, Corel Painter, and MyPaint, although Clip Studio Paint consistently outperforms them in the most crucial categories.

Clip Studio Paint Review Conclusions

Clip Studio Paint is a terrific alternative for illustrators and painters of all types, especially those working on comic books and manga, who want greater flexibility and freedom to produce just as they would on paper while taking advantage of all the benefits technology has to offer.

This is one of the greatest and most economical digital sketching software tools available, thanks to its incredible selection of tools and features and the ability to animate. It takes some time to get to know everything it offers, but if you’ve used Photoshop or similar software before, you’ll be up and running.

Furthermore, the sketching tools are so intuitive that you should have no trouble using them. Many comic artists are beginning to choose Clip Studio Paint over Adobe Photoshop because of its fully adjustable brushes, perspective rulers, 3D pose library, and more cheap one-time price tag.

Clip Studio Paint Pro is less priced and has a lot of amazing capabilities, but if you want to build many pages, have limitless animation frames, and convert 3d to 2d styles, I recommend investing a little more and getting Clip Studio Paint EX, the more powerful version of the program.

Is Clip Studio Paint good?

Many comic artists prefer clip Studio Paint over Adobe Photoshop since it contains several features that Photoshop lacks. However, all systems offer pros and downsides, so consider your needs before purchasing.

Clip Studio Paint is a good choice if you seek feature-rich illustration software with all the tools and skills that manga and comic artists want. Unfortunately, there is a plethora of art software on the market vying for a spot in your portfolio. On the other hand, Clip Studio Paint does not require much persuasion.

Listen to the tens of thousands of artists who have been using this software since its inception and now make up the community that keeps it alive with special brushes, materials, and more. Clip Studio Paint is the most popular software among anime and manga artists; however, it is also popular among traditional painters. Therefore, this software is a lifesaver if you want to take your anime art to the next level.

5.0 out of 5 starsFavorite drawing & painting program

Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 24, 2014

You're not going to believe me, just as I didn't believe my instructor when he said this, but I actually prefer this program for drawing/sketching/painting over CS6 Photoshop. I've used Photoshop for over 14 years now, and I know the interface better than, well, most of my relatives faces. No way I was going to learn a new program just for basic drawing with a Wacom.

But then I tried it. And now I only open up Photoshop for photos (imagine that) or to do some tweaking on my Clip Studio Paint documents. (Which, might I add, seamlessly flow between CSP and CS6 -- layers and all.)

This program is less resource hungry than Photoshop, which is great for those who are on older machines. In fact, I bought a new copy and I'm currently running this on a 4-year old basic HP with no dedicated GPU while I sort out my PSU problems on my i7 rig. It will still drag at times if I'm working on a 30 layer document at 350 resolution, but it isn't anywhere close to the drag of CS6.

Now, the best part for me: The brushes. In CSP you have pens -- a basic ink set as well as a set of markers. In brushes, you have a whole set of watercolor brushes, india ink, and a smaller sets for oil painting. You also have airbrush (hard, soft, shadow, highlight, spray, blurred spray) and pencils (colored pencil, mechanical pencil, hard, soft) as well as pastel (charcoal, crayon, pastel, chalk). And you can edit all the brushes -- density, brush stroke, brush size, combine mode (typical CS6 set), stabilization, etc. and not spend more than a second or two doing it.

They also just 'feel' better in CSP, if that makes sense. And it actually feels more sensitive to my cheap Wacom Manga tablet than CS6 does.

Because this program was intended for use as a comic/manga program, it does have a whole set of brushes called 'decoration' which includes some useful, if not slightly silly brushes -- rocks, all sorts of flowers, caution tape, barbed wire, etc. But there's also some texture brushes which are pretty darn nice.

After the brushes, you have other familiar CS6 offerings -- layers, paint bucket, blend/combine, gradients, eraser, lines and shapes, multiple selection tools including magic wand, marquees, etc. Also it has Edit --> Color correction, which has the usual levels, saturation, etc. as well as transform tools that feature rotate and scale. It does NOT have a crop tool (I just edit the canvas size) and it only has a few filters.

It also has the option to import a plethora of posed 3D models you can size, scale, re-pose, etc. It becomes part of your document as a new layer and is easy to trace both the object and the perspective lines.

Overall, It just feels more intuitive for drawing and painting. The brushes when used with a Wacom feel much more natural and I love being able to select the brushes I want with just a couple of clicks. For $30, you really cannot find a better program that offers both natural feeling brushes AND CS6 type options/control.

In a previous blog post The Game Artist’s Arsenal, I covered our game artists’ most-used programs: Paint Tool SAI, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Animate (Flash.) Listed were each of the softwares’ pros and cons, along with general prices to help inform prospective artists. The feedback was largely positive and I gave myself a small pat on the back for a job well done. And then a comment came in on iris software crack LinkedIn page from one Kirk Wescom. He said:

“You should look into Clip Studio Paint (Manga Studio) by Smith Micro Software. The pressure response on a Cintiq is greatly superior to Photoshop and the cost is much better.”

Having grown up in the digital art scene, I had heard of what was known as solely Manga Studio back in the day. I only have a vague memory of hearing second-hand reports that it was a good inking program, but that was it. I’d had no personal experience with the tools or features. I figured I didn’t need it, I already had the biggest, most expensive art program out there (because when you’re sixteen-years-old, cost correlates directly to quality, apparently.)

To say the least, clip studio paint review, I was skeptical of Mr. Wescom’s recommendation, especially since I don’t even use a Cintiq. (All of our other game artists do, but I require the hand-eye disconnect.) However, any associate’s suggestion is worth looking into, so I decided to check it out.

First things first, how’s the price? Clip Studio Paint sells online for $50. Not bad, but so does Paint Tool SAI, give or take. My immediate assumption was that it is only $50 for a reason, something along the lines of SAI’s limited support or lack of Clip studio paint review filters. Thus far, not particularly impressed. The free trial version of Clip Studio nearly equates to the fully licensed program without saving or loading, so I downloaded it. I imagined I would spend about an hour discovering how this program was inferior to both Clip studio paint review and SAI, and be done with it.

I was so wrong.

I spent the first hour clip studio paint review the brush library presets alone. Like SAI, it has multiple brush types (ink, watercolor, oil,) with different weights, opacities, blending capabilities, etc., all within their own subcategories. However, unlike SAI, it also has the customization capabilities of a Photoshop brush. A user can not only change the shape of the brush’s imprint, but also control the stroke’s direction, gap, scattering, density, anti-aliasing, and more, all of which can be found in the Sub Tool Detail view–accessible by clicking on the crescent wrench in the brush properties window.

Kirk: 1, Natasha: 0

I’ll admit, I was impressed. But that’s what Manga Studio was known for, wasn’t it? Just a bunch of glorified linework, right? 16-year-old me who couldn’t paint digitally would think so. But 27-year-old me, who can paint, spent the next hour painting the best landscapes of my life. Scenes, plural, in only one hour. I managed to more precisely control blending my strokes and textures than I could in SAI, while maintaining Photoshop’s deep level of brush customization for a greater variety of shapes and textures. Ring me up, because I’m sold.

But it doesn’t end there. Out of mere curiosity, clip studio paint review, I dug a little deeper to see what else Clip Studio had to offer. Brushwork was just the tip of the iceberg.

Clip Studio Paint contains 192 (yes, I counted them,) pre-rendered brush material images alone, ranging from natural-looking vegetation to a cute variety of cartoon hearts to telephone poles, which will snap to a straight line or logical perspective as best as any raster program clip studio paint review the fact that I have never heard of another raster program that does that. I did not, however, take the time to count the number of pre-rendered textures, patterns, manga materials (comic frame layouts,) or posable dolls.

Yes, Clip Studio has 3D pre-rendered, weighted human figures–among other things–which you can rotate, scale, and adjust to your heart’s content. They are posable down to individual knuckles on the fingers, all with natural ranges of motion.

How is this program only $50? If you still can’t squeeze that into your budget, sign up for emails or keep an eye on the download page. Clip Studio Paint frequently goes on sale for as little as $20. You cannot find a better bang for your buck anywhere.

In summary, Clip Studio Paint is the ideal marriage of Adobe Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI. It has the best features from both programs for painters at the most affordable purchase price. Both Photoshop and SAI still have their own advantages respectfully, clip studio paint review. Photoshop’s popularity and standard as an entertainment industry mainstay makes its features easy to learn through countless company and user-generated resources. The smaller Paint Tool SAI is less overwhelming and a good beginner’s program for budding digital artists. But to all artists of any skill level looking to cap off their own arsenal, I say listen to Kirk: check out Clip Studio Paint.

Clip Studio Paint Review [2022]

Clip Studio Paint is an art software that is highly acclaimed by anime, manga, and comic style artists.

Clip Studio boasts a number of sophisticated tools, reclusive brushes, and other features aimed to give the anime artists a unique advantage in their work.

Clip Studio also offers animation capabilities, with features such as onion-skin view and a customizable camera.

But one of Clip Studio Paint’s most lucrative features is its 3D model, which relies on artificial intelligence to create dynamic and lifelike poses for reference.

With all of these spellbinding qualities, how does Clip Studio Paint measure up? Let’s explore it in an in-depth review of everything Clip Studio Paint has to offer.

Interface and Design

clip_studio_paint_interface

Clip Studio has a fairly easy to navigate interface. One big plus is that the interface is essentially the same from desktop to tablet, which is helpful if you’ll be switching between a Wacom and an iPad, for example.

On your left-hand side, you have your essential toolbar, which gives access to brushes, the eraser, and other essential features, clip studio paint review. Clicking on any of these tools will open up a sub-menu to change the thickness, clip studio paint review, stabilization, etc.

The upper hand toolbar is your basic commands, including file, edit, layers, and more.

clip_studio_paint_Undo-Erase

Clip Studio does allow you to move, minimize, and hide these toolbars when you’d like. You can also use shortcuts to quickly manipulate settings, such as brush size.

You can also change the color of the interface from dark to light and also the intensity of the darkness/lightness.

clip_studio_paint_interface_dark_light

You can also switch workspace order easily by dragging and dropping different elements to places and sides as you wish.

Creating a New Drawing or Animation

clip_studio_paint_new_file

Clip Studio has a number of fantastic tutorials on their site to help you get started with your first drawing or animation.

If you’re at all familiar with drawing software, though, there’s not much of a learning curve. For more unique features, such as 3D model posing and asset rendering, those tutorials will prove invaluable.

You can quickly create a new drawing by opening a file, which will be a preset canvas size.

You can change the canvas size or material at any time by selecting “Window” in the upper toolbar. To begin an animation, there’s an option for that in the upper toolbar where you can create your first animation layer.

Illustration

clip_studio_paint_Save-Open

For basic illustrations, Clip Studio is exceptionally user friendly. You’ll spend the majority of your time in your left toolbar without delving into ESET Internet Security 14.2.10.0 Crack Latest Version Full Free Download of the more complicated settings.

Layers can be accessed from the upper toolbar or the lefthand toolbar, which is convenient.

The left toolbar is divided into two parts. The left side contains all your tools, and the right bar will contain tool-specific options, as well as quick access for color history, layers, clip studio paint review, and material import.

That material import option is how you can use assets, custom brushes, and the 3D pose tool. To save your illustration, click on ‘File’ in the upper left-hand corner.

Comic

clip_studio_paint_Official_Tips

Clip Studio is fantastic for comic and manga artists. By far, one of the most useful features in Clip Studio is the story manager, which streamlines the process of managing multiple pages and volumes (and switching between them).

Another useful tool to jump-start a comic is the layout tool on the left toolbar. You can pick from a number of preset layouts and windows or drag and drop to create your own.

Manga artists will appreciate the convenience of this, as well as the cohesiveness it gives to the artwork.

You can create a story (containing multiple boards or pages) from the upper toolbar and come back to it to add new pages frequently.

Animation

Clip Studio was built with animators in mind, clip studio paint review. Regardless of whether you’re starting an illustration, comic, or animation, you will have all these options available from the get-go by creating a new file.

Otherwise, you can select from the use of work options when creating a new file. These options include webtoons, comics, custom comics (if you’re using a particular layout), and animation.

You can also select options for title-safe areas and overflow frames. These areas are adjustable from file creation.

Other things you do from the file creation menu include the ability to add notes, specify what scene or shot number, and adjust the frame rate.

Brushes

clip_studio_paint_Paint

For the price, Clip Studio comes with a fantastic number of brushes and textures to use for a variety of purposes. You can also purchase more brushes and assets from the assets store, clip studio paint review, created by other artists.

Presets include pen, pencil, brush, airbrush, and more, clip studio paint review. There are also variations, including watercolor brushes, colored pencils, and more.

What’s really impressive about Clip Studio’s brushes is how realistic they are.

You can preview some other artists’ work and see how true to life they are. Many comics and manga shared by creators look hand-drawn and hardly created by any software.

You’ll find a number of ways to get this same look, especially in the sub-options for the pencil tool. Clip Studio’s preset brushes demonstrate great pressure sensitivity as well when used with the Apple pencil.

If there’s one thing that Clip Studio Paint is CorelDraw 2021 Crack With Keys X9 [Latest 2021] Full Download master at, it’s the brushes. Brushes are what makes this art software the best in the market for drawing.

I left Adobe Photoshop camp when I found Clip Studio Paint. The brushes are that good, clip studio paint review. I do, however, use Photoshop for other graphic related work, but when it comes to drawing, Clip Studio Paint is the best.

Pen

Sub-tools for the pen include G-pen, turnip pen, calligraphy, and mapping pen, among others. The other sub-tool set is for markers, which include felt, flat, as well as a fill-in-mono option.

Manga artists (or any artists, really) who are glued to their Copic markers will find that these options perform great and aren’t one-dimensional like some other software out there.

The marker options respond well to pressure and look lifelike. You can further play around with the blending anti-aliasing to fully adjust the style.

Overall, the pen tool works great for outlining as well as color blocking without appearing too blunt.

Pencil

clip_studio_paint_Sketch

The pencil is used exclusively by many artists on Clip Studio, and its versatility is the reason why. Your sub-tool will contain many options, from hard and soft pencils to colored pencils and even mechanical pencils.

There’s a “real pencil” option that is true to its name and is great for sketching an outline or adding some details to your piece (you might have to increase the brush density, even if you have a pressure-sensitive stylist).

But all of the pencil options look quite realistic and have a convenient slider for hardness or stabilization.

I tend to use Pencils for rough sketches and find them to be invaluable. They deliver results like never before, it feels like you are drawing on a paper, and the results look like it.

Brush

clip_studio_paint_Draw

The brush tool comes with four sub-tool options. These include watercolor, realistic watercolor, thick paint, and India ink.

Manga artists will appreciate an entire sub-tool dedicated to India ink, especially if you’re transitioning into digital art and are looking to mimic the traditional art process as closely as possible.

The watercolor brushes are stunning and work fantastic for color blocking or shading.

While some might prefer the “realistic” set, the normal set is just as beautiful and doesn’t naturally taper out of paint like the other brush.

The watercolor brush also is exceptionally conducive to clip studio paint review sensitivity, which made light shading and values a breeze.

Airbrush

The airbrush tool offers a variety of different ways to add texture to an area, in addition to its more common usages.

The airbrush tool was created with shading in mind, having both a highlight and shadow subtool. For texture, there’s tone scraping, running color spray, and droplet.

The highlight tool exceeded expectations. Many of Clip Studio’s tools are powered by AI, and it’s clear that there’s a level of sophistication that accompanies that.

The highlight tool is a choice for highlighting hair and is capable of both blunt and softer light reflections.

The shadow tool is equally as great, although you’ll find that many tools can be used to achieve the same purpose.

Brush Properties

clip_studio_paint_brush_properties

Let’s talk about all the sliders you can manipulate with your tools. The brush properties are essentially the same from tool to tool, with some tool-specific sliders.

The first two sliders are your brush size and opacity. For the brush tool, you can control the density and amount of paint to the same effect as opacity.

Other sliders include stabilization (with an option for adjusting by speed), texture (with several built-in options like paper or graphite), and anti-aliasing.

One unique feature was the ability to set texture density, clip studio paint review, which worked well for custom textures from the asset shop.

One thing that can be a bit confusing is the fact that you can customize every single brush with any property, which means that you can add any brush property to pencils, pens, brushes, etc.

Making the brush customization endless but also superbly detailed. Clip Studio Paint’s brush engine is a beast, to say the least.

Correct Line

The correct line tool is coupled with a dust removal tool (nifty for imported drawings).

As usual, you can adjust the curvature and angle of lines. One other thing you can do with the correct line tool on vector layers is clip studio paint review or narrow an existing line.

You can adjust the pen pressure, which can give a completely different impression or a more realistic feel. The correct line tool is also located in your toolbar, and selection/deselection is in the upper toolbar.

The correct line tool is specifically designed to be used with vector layers, clip studio paint review. So do keep that in mind when selecting this tool for use.

Layers

With the PRO and EX versions of Clip Studio Paint, you’ll have access to unlimited layers, including both raster and vector as usual.

There’s the option to flatten layers, adjust the transparency (indicated by the “Normal” slider), lock, hide, and import files into the layers.

The layer tool is quite clean and nicely laid out, although some of the sprites for tools look a bit different from other applications.

The options clip studio paint review merge down one and merge down all (or merge one and flatten) aren’t exactly too different from each other, so be sure before you start clicking around.

Raster Layer

If you’re not familiar with the difference between raster layers and vector layers, it’s quite simple.

Raster layers are your typically pixel-based layer and the default layer that will spawn whenever you create one.

Because it’s pixel-based, you won’t be able to use the correct line tool on it.

However, you will be able to manipulate the look of the layer using layer modes, which create a “control layer” over your selected layer.

Vector Layer

Vector layers, on the other hand, clip studio paint review, are solely for vectors (of course) and is based on math.

With these kinds of layers, you’ll be able to use the correct line tool to adjust the curvature, angle, or thickness of existing lines.

This is useful for a number of options, including layouts and other clip studio paint review of manga or comics.

If you’re working on a vector layer but have changed your mind (or need access to another feature), you can rasterize the layer–or, simply put, convert it to a raster layer.

You can also convert raster layers to vector layers by using the built-in command in Clip Studio.

Keep in mind, however, that that’s often easier said than done.

Especially intricate layers or layers with a large number of colors can convert incorrectly or not be able to at all, so try to pick one of the two and stick with it if at all possible (or work in multiple layers at a time to simplify the work).

The main feature of vector layers is that they do music manager app break as you scale them up or down. They are based on math and so they follow calculations when it comes to arranging pixels, raster layers do not work like this.

Layer Modes

Layer mode options are easily accessible from the layer menus. Those modes include darken, multiply, color burn, as well as some options for linear light, vivid light, pin light, and more.

It’s important to note that at the end of the drop-down menu are options for hue, saturation, color, and brightness.

One thing to give Clip Studio props on is their outstanding guides on these blending modes and how they’ll manipulate their color palette.

It’s impossible to remember what each of the modes does (and it’s not always convenient to play around), so Clip Studio’s wealth of official guides and fan-created guides are enormously helpful.

Tools

The tools are by far the most enjoyable aspect of Clip Studio Paint. You’ll lose many hours experimenting with the decoration tool.

The AI aspect of this is so helpful. With the stroke of a brush, you can create a number of elements, including randomized buildings, trees, or even ginkgo leaves.

The effect sub-tool is especially dedicated to anime artists and features all the sparkles, stars, hearts, clip studio paint review, and bloodstains you could ever need (perfect for anime, right?).

In addition to the scores of preset natural tools, there’s also a sub-tool for clothing.

You can flawlessly create lace, chains, or pearls. There’s a number of tools for sale in the asset shop that can create zippers and other clothing aspects that are time-consuming to draw.

(kuva)

This, of course, doesn’t dive into the wonderful world of textures that are available to all users. How incredible is that! If you’re an anime artist, this software will be your playground.

Fill Tool

The fill tool is useful for blocking in areas with color quickly. Normally, the fill tool can be finicky depending on how well your outlines are enclosed.

Clip Studio took this into account and created an entire sub-menu for options to control the gap, color margin, scaling, and more.

There’s also the option to refer to a single layer or multiple layers. Overall, the fill tool saves a lot of time for colorizing line art, especially if you’re working with multiple pages in a manga, clip studio paint review, per see.

I personally use the fill tool pretty much every time I draw, as it’s super convenient when doing cel shading and other coloring tasks.

Ruler

If you’re looking for precise lines, Clip Studio Paint has a few tricks up its sleeve. For starters, you can always enable the grid ruler by clicking on “View” and ruler.

Another option is to select the line tool, which allows you to create straight, curved, and polygonal lines. But if you’d prefer an actual ruler on the page, you can use the figure ruler or linear ruler.

A cool feature of the figure ruler is that you can create whatever shape you’d like for the ruler, which you can use to your advantage in more ways than one.

The line tool is also home to some incredible comic book and manga style lines, which you can create with ease–but more on that later.

Materials

clip_studio_materials

If there were a Hollywood award show for digital art software, Clip Studio Paint would get a legacy award for its materials alone.

The sheer number of materials and tools available (built-in, at that) makes the manga artist’s life oh-so-much easier. From effects to auto-layouts and speech bubble tools, you’ll be impressed by the ease in which you’ll be able to create some professional-looking storyboards.

What’s even cooler is the assets store, where you can buy thousands of ready-made assets created by other artists using gold coins.

clip_studio_paint_Assets

Some of the most popular assets, however, are actually free, and you’ll find quite a bit of free content offered by artists who are looking to share the same tools they use in their professional work.

Let’s take a look at some of the coolest features you can take advantage of with Clip Studio.

Manga Material

clip_studio_paint_manga_materials

There are so many useful materials for manga artists to take advantage of, so let’s start with the built-in options available. The line tool enables the user to quickly create bursts, saturated lines, or stream lines.

These lines are indicators of motion or action, and if you play around with the tool, you’ll instantly recognize them.

Before, creating these bursts effects was time-consuming and resulted in the inevitable ruining of character art.

You can create these lines now with ease and edit them later in a vector layer should you need to make any substantial changes.

Overall, adding these effects is a great way in the post-phase to breathe life and dimension into your story art.

Directly below the line art tool is the frame tool, which you can use to create the borders for your manga.

If you don’t want to use an aspect-ratio tool to draw the boxes out, there’s also a special frame border pen.

That works well for call-outs or cutaways, or any other instances where you might need a more clearly defined frame.

Lastly, clip studio paint review, in this area of the toolbar, we have the balloon tool, which you can use download antivirus full crack Activators Patch quickly create speech bubbles. There are multiple styles to choose from, and you can change the color, thickness, and other aspects to your liking.

Above the balloon tool is the text tool as well, so manga artists will be able to find all their most needed tools in proximity to each other.

3D Models And 3D Objects

And here, we’ve arrived at quite possibly, the best tool that Clip Studio Paint has to offer.

This tool alone receives high praise from both anime and traditional artists alike. The 3D model tool allows you to import a 3D model of a person into a layer, which you can then pose and bend just like an artist’s manikin.

In the assets store, you can find a variety of body types, heights, clip studio paint review, and preset poses to reference. Having a manikin like this with so many points of articulation and ranges of movement is, quite frankly, priceless.

A quick sketch in a separate layer will yield a highly accurate, impressive outline that you can build off.

Anime, manga, and comics are no strangers to some pretty difficult to master poses. This tool is a must-have for any artist looking to nail these poses.

clip_studio_paint_3d_model_example

If that’s not convincing enough for you, consider this: even the fingers, fingertips, and knuckles have articulation.

Gone are the days of wonky hands. You can even load in 3D models of hands and feet alone if that’s an area of struggle for you.

There’s a slight learning curve for figuring out how to adjust the model and pose it the way you want. Look closely at the guidelines, Microsoft Office 2016 Free Download with Crack Product key take advantage of the ability to rotate the scene as needed (the model will still remain in position).

clip_studio_paint_3D Models

Sometimes, you need to adjust the angle you’re viewing the model in order to better see the guides for a range of motion.

But if that proves too much hassle for you (and it won’t, you’ll lose hours doing this because it’s so fun), you can always buy pre-made poses from other artists on the assets store!

Monochromatic pattern

clip_studio_paint_monochromatic

The monochromatic pattern tool is another invaluable tool for manga artists. Halftones, gradients, and other textures are quick and easy ways to get that typical manga style.

In addition to these monochrome patterns, there’s also a binarization tool to turn any image into black and white, as well as some tools for creating backgrounds in a pinch.

Drawing Experience

clip_studio_paint_Zoom-Rotate-Flip

There’s a lot to be said when it comes to Autodesk AutoCad 2021 Crack + Keygen Key Free Download drawing with Clip Studio Paint. Like I mentioned before, I used to use Photoshop for drawing; nowadays, I use it for graphic related work.

But, here’s the thing, when it comes to drawing, I always struggled to create precise lines, control the line art, and just draw line art confidently.

By switching the art software to Clip Studio Paint, I was finally able to draw line art the way I always wanted, clip studio paint review, but it didn’t end there, clip studio paint review. What I also found out was that the clip studio paint review experience and the speed of coloring also increased multifold.

The drawing experience with this art software is just insanely realistic. It produces insane results, the brushes, pens, pencils, and brush properties are the best in the industry.

Photoshop is good for sure, but Clip Studio Paint is the best. Em client 7.1 crack Activators Patch with this art software is a joy and the way it produces lines and the speed it produces the lines are the best in the industry.

All in all, the drawing experience is the best I have experienced so far.

Clip Studio Paint PRO vs. EX

You really can’t go wrong with purchasing Clip Studio Paint. However, you might be torn on whether to choose from the PRO or EX versions. The PRO version is the more inexpensive option and is great for people just looking to test out the program or use it for basic illustration purposes.

If you already have the PRO version and like it, you can upgrade to EX for a discount!

The EX version offers a variety of additional features, such as animation, clip studio paint review, a page manager for comics, and some other handy tools for people creating professional work on the platform.

You can start out with a free trial, which gives you access to the EX version free for a month. If you’re not much of an animator or have a dedicated manga you’re working on, you can always switch to the PRO version.

However, even if you don’t do much animation, you’ll have a lot of fun exploring the features used by artists extraordinaire.

If Clip Studio Paint gets a legacy award for its 3D models, then maybe it gets the Nobel Prize for this nifty feature. You can easily extract line art from images with a background with Clip Studio’s built-in function.

It’s as easy as clicking on your edit dropdown, selecting “convert brightness to opacity,” and voila–you have a perfectly extracted layer of line art.

From there, you can download it and use it wherever else. This feature is available only in the EX version, and if there’s any feature alone that could convince you to buy the EX version, I think this is it.

Love this!! But one major thing

Edit2: oct 15,2018 - I have csp ex on my Mac and had some animations I wanted to carry over to work on the iPad. The iPad version cannot handle all the features that the clip studio paint review has? So I couldn’t touch my file on the iPad. what clip studio paint review downer. 3/5

Edit: so I found how to do it! Lol, wow, so I’ll share it in Stardock WindowBlinds 10.87 Crack Free Download you’re like me.

Everytime when I draw something that I really like it doesn't freakin save, clip studio paint review. I know it's on me because I forget to save the file sometimes but autosave is a thing and it's not working. I had so many layers worth of work that I really liked and a I thought that clip studio saved it automatically so I went to bed, and when I woke up this morning I found out that it did not save 7 clip studio paint review worth of stuff. SEVEN!!! That took me like at least two hours so how come it didn't save automatically??? This is like the 10th time and I thought that the bug was fixed. B uT, other than that, it's a pretty decent program and I do recommend it if you can afford it, just please everyone, remember to save Everytime you exit the privacy eraser pro serial key or you'll end up grieving over something stupid like i just did.
Thank you and goodnight ✌️

Long time CSP fan here

I don't mind the subscription based service considering all the free options there are for brushes etc. Please!

Drawing and Editing Lines with Vector Clip studio paint review of Clip Studio Paint

Using Vector Layer

Clip Studio Paint PRO has vector and raster features that use multiple colors and can create flawless animations while enabling you to sync your work between your devices. Many beginners have complained that this software was hard to use at first, but they got familiar with the program after a short while.

Review of Interface

The first time you use Clip Studio Paint PRO, you will find it busier and cluttered like clip studio paint review sketchbook of Autodesk.

Color Selection & Adjustment Tools

There are also quite comprehensive color selections at the top of the page. There are a color wheel and a color set and slider at the bottom, clip studio paint review.
